It is a well-known fact that many of the currently existing breeds of turkeys are artificially produced. This group includes the white broad-chested turkey, which was bred in the United States of America in the sixties of the XX century by crossing the bronze broad-chested breed and white Dutch. This breed is very popular, in the USSR it was imported from England in 1970

The birds of this breed have a beautiful snow-white color of plumage, broad-chested, with a trunk in the form of a large oval, legs of a dark pink color, a head of this small size with a long red growth on the beak. This breed can be assessed for good meat quality, high growing speed, an excellent adaptation to different climatic conditions, as well as its representatives perfectly carry the eggs. However, there are also disadvantages: this species requires certain conditions of detention and is very scrupulous in terms of feeding. Requires good care and constant bait vitamins, minerals and other useful substances

White broad-chested rock is widely used in modern poultry farming. This kind of turkeys includes several varieties: light, medium and heavy. They differ among themselves in the speed and size of meat growing, reproductive properties. For example, the weight of large males of light turkeys is 9 kilograms, and females – 5 kilograms, but male of heavy varieties can reach 25 kilograms, and female is 11 kilograms, which is a kind of record among representatives of this species

When grown, the mark of 7 kilograms of turkey reach at the age of 19-20 weeks, by this time they are already fully feathered and have an excellent commercial appearance. Also they are distinguished by their good adaptability to life in the cage, which allows them to grow in small areas at home

In addition to meat qualities, this type of turkeys can boast of excellent reproductive properties. Already at the age of nine months, females begin to carry eggs. All oviposition lasts for several months, during this time one individual can lay more than a hundred eggs. The weight of the egg is about 70-80 grams. Based on the results of observations, it was found that on average, out of 30 eggs, 23 to 25 chicks appear, which is a good percentage of the brood.
