The breed of Soviet woolen goats was excavated in the USSR between 1947 and 1967, through continued work on crossing coarse-wooled goats with representatives of the Angora breed

Animals of this breed have a strong structure and well-developed forms, but they do not look rude. The muscles of the goats of this breed are well developed. The skin has a good mesh layer

Head small, with medium horns, hook-nosed, ears hanging. Torso high, heavy, wide. The legs are set exactly, the ligaments well developed. The chest is powerful and deep, and the back is straight. Very similar in structure to coarse-wooled goats, but much larger than Angora

The height of the goats is from fifty-six to sixty centimeters, and the goats are from seventy to seventy-five centimeters. The average weight of goats varies from thirty-seven to forty kilograms, and goats weigh from fifty-five kilograms to sixty kilograms

The goats of the Soviet wool breed, due to the fact that they have very good fur, can graze all year round in open pasture. Even in winter, on mountain grazing representatives of this breed do not experience discomfort

The wool of this breed in kind, composition, strength reminds the moker. In goats, the trunk, neck and legs are especially well developed. The quality of the rune of Soviet goats outnumber Angora in it is more down, and the transitional hair is at a minimum, the content of the camp is one to one and a half percent. Soviet goats give wool, which is thinner and slightly shorter than the famous mohair, but much thicker than it. In industry, the wool of a new goat breed is as valuable as alpaca or Angora wool

If the goats live in a comfortable climatic zone, then they grow very quickly and they can be cut twice a year. Cutting a goat in the fall, by the spring its fur, grows to fourteen centimeters

Productivity for meat of this type of goat is not bad before slaughter mass of castrated goats at the age of four years is forty-six kilograms, and the slaughter mass is 20 kilograms

It should be noted that this type of goat does not last, but with proper feeding for a four-month lactation period, the goat produces 100 kg of milk, which is enough for feeding kids no more. Fertility of this breed is from one hundred and four to one hundred and six kids per hundred queens, and in very good conditions it is one hundred and sixteen or one hundred and twenty kids. The goat, born, weighs just over three kilograms, and the goat weighs two kilograms eight hundred grams. By the age of six, children gain forty-eight percent of the weight of adult animals, and in two and a half years this figure is already eighty-eight percent

Goatskin skins are used for sewing children’s fur coats, and the skins of adult animals after dressing are used for sewing various leather things

The Soviet breed was most widely spread on the territory of the Russian Federation in the Republic of Tuva, the Republic of Dagestan, the North Caucasus, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, and the Pamirs.
