Bronze turkeys

This type of turkeys is considered to be the most common among all known species. It is difficult to find a place where this species does not occur. It was bred in the United States of America, for its basis they took a simple home turkey, wild and English breed. They have a significant mass, high productivity and are easily adjusted to external negative factors and conditions. Their breeding is possible both in individual farms and in large poultry farms

In appearance, the breed is very similar to wild turkeys, while it has a more massive body. The head is small and wide, with neck not covered with plumage, but has a bearded skin of blue color. The back is elongated, on it there are feathers of bronze color, and from its middle to the tail the tail is black, in females this color is white. The color of the beak is yellow with a brownish tinge. The wings of the bird have a fairly large scope, the plumage on them is brown with a white, bordering on the edges. Massive legs are painted black

The popularity of these turkeys is huge because of their large live weight. They are bred specially for the sake of quality meat, and the more massive the bird, the more meat it gives at the face. Usually, the weight of an adult male is 8 kilograms, and the turkey is about 5, but larger individuals are found. Young birds very quickly gain weight, in connection with this, they can be delivered for slaughter by 4 months, at which time it is possible to receive more tender and valuable meat

Also, their main positive qualities are good adaptability to almost any living conditions and a good survival rate for young animals. It should be noted that such qualities are not observed in all species of birds. Females demolish a large number of eggs (about 50 to 100 pieces per year) and successfully incubate them. Of course, all this requires certain conditions and certain costs, but in the end the result will pay off completely

Feeding is carried out by various types of cereals and mesquees with the addition of vitamin and mineral bait. At the same time, a certain feeding schedule must be observed, and the feed should not be fat

Undoubtedly, due to its unsurpassed qualities, the bronze breed of turkeys will remain the most popular breed for breeding birds, as in industry and in everyday life.
