Apples Red Delicious for the first time began to grow in America. This variety is a red clone of another species, namely Delicious. Earlier, Red Deliciouss could only be seen in the south of the Russian Federation, where fruits were grown for industrial purposes. Now, such planting is extremely rare.

Adult tree grows to medium size. The crown of a plant changes as it grows. At an immature age the tree has an oval crown or a back pyramidal. After the tree begins to bear fruit, its crown changes its shape to a rounded or even wide-rounded one.

The crown of the apple tree is formed by many small branches, on which there are rings. It is on these short branches that fruit appears.

Planting seedlings is recommended for open sunny soil. Such an arrangement will promote uniform coloration of the fruit.

Variety Red Delicious has an average shoot size. As a rule, they are painted in a brownish-red color. In addition, shoots have a strong pubescence. They can be slightly curved or straight.

The apple tree has medium-sized leaves. They can be oval or oblong in shape. In this case, the leaves have a round base, and the top is slightly elongated. The leaf is colored green and has a shine. In this type of wood, the edge of all the leaves is serrate and crenate. It is looking at the leaves you can distinguish the sight of Red Delicious from the usual Delicious, since the petiole itself has a patch of reddish color that stretches to the middle of the leaf through the veinlet.

Apples of this variety are dark red and evenly colored throughout the surface. The peduncle also has a red tint, but only on the side where the sun’s rays constantly fall.

Basically, the landings of Red Delicious are located in the Krasnodar Territory. A number of studies have been carried out, during which it was found that in apple in different concentrations the following components are present:

– 15.5% – dry matter;

– 0,38-0,65% – various acids;

– 9,5-11,8% – sugar;

– in every 100 grams of apple there is 5.5-6.5 milligrams of ascorbic acid;

– for every 100 grams of fruit, 130 milligrams of P-active substances fall.

At the end of September, the harvest is harvested. Fruits can be stored for a long time, until the middle of spring. However, apples can be damaged by spotting, which has a bitter taste and impairs fruit quality.

Scientists confirm the opinion that this sort of apples is not so whimsical, as it may seem at first sight. The number of fruits, their taste and appearance directly depends on the conditions in which apples were grown. The tree itself is sensitive to frost and can freeze at low temperatures. In addition, the plant can be damaged by scab. However, this trouble can be avoided if in time to perform special treatment against scab. The tree has an average drought resistance and is rarely putrefied, sometimes it can suffer from moth rats.

Among the positive qualities of this variety is that the tree begins to quickly and regularly bear fruit. The weight of ripe apples can reach 180-200 grams. Fruits are conical or round-conical. The surface of the apple is studded with large white spots. The flesh of the fruit often has a greenish-cream tint, the taste is sweet and sour and fragrant. However, apples are a little bit fresh and malo. Structure of the pulp is dense, granular. Also, the advantages of Red Delicious include a presentable kind of fruit and excellent commodity characteristics.
